Captain James C. Goodhart is a Coast Guard licensed captain and a member of the Northeast Charter Boat Captains Association.  This Newburyport fishing guide has a passion for fly fishing which he began at age 8.  Captain Goodhart hand ties the bulk of the flies used on his charters and has developed a number of patterns that are particularly effective in these waters.  The captain has been fishing with spinning gear since age 5 and is equally proficient in this light tackle approach. James is now pushing 50.  He has been fishing for striped bass and bluefish in the Merrimack River and Plum Island area for over ten years.
